Sculptural Shoes....

Winter Fresh Vegetable Soup

Stumbled upon this vegetable soup when I was trying to figure out what to do with Cabbage. I Love it so much I made it twice alreay within a week.

Here is the recipe. I made my own fresh vegetable broth and added one Star Anise and a couple of bay leaves in the beginning. But you can modify it to your liking as you please....

Country-French Vegetable Soup

2 teaspoons olive oil

2 cups chopped green cabbage

1 cup chopped onion

1 cup (1/2-inch-thick) sliced carrot

1 cup sliced celery

1 cup diced red potato

1 teaspoon caraway seeds

1 cup water

4 cups Fresh Vegetable Broth or 2 (14 1/2-ounce) cans vegetable broth

1 cup drained canned chickpeas (garbanzo beans)

2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley

2 teaspoons chopped fresh or 1/2 teaspoon dried dill

1/2 teaspoon pepper

Heat oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat until hot. Add cabbage and next 5 ingredients (cabbage through caraway seeds); sauté 2 minutes. Add water and broth; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 30 minutes. Add chickpeas, parsley, dill, and pepper; cook until thoroughly heated.

Yield: 4 servings (serving size: 1 3/4 cups)

Easy Smokey Eye, I'd love to try....

For all the return you get I can't belive how easy a smokey eye is...

All you need is a brown eyeshadow, Black eye liner and good mascara.

Sweep the eyeshadow  all over your eye lids, line your eyes, top bottom and waterline with the black liner, Smudge it to your hearts content and sweep on loads of mascara. If you want to add a little more punch brush on some highlither in the inner corner of you eye and on your brow bone.

Go easy on the rest of the face for what its worth.

Here is a pic of the look, but its a bit too dramatic for me... you can lighten up on the eyeliner for day.

Get ready to bat those eyes and have fun!!!!!

My L.A.M.B try

So I got my first L.A.M.B shoes and I was so excited to recieve them....

How can you not be? Look at them!

I don't know how much Gwen has input in the designs but I think all the shoes in her line are pieces of art. And it took me to try one to realize that thats all they are, 'pieces of art'.

I ordered from the shoes from Rue La La and got them for 140$ - such a deal compared to their regular price of 450$ something, and I couldn't wait for them to get here.

They arrived today and alas!, they are uncomfortable, and dont fit right. Well it might be this style, but I am a regular size 8.5 and these have a gap at the back of my foot and looks odd when I wear them. And the front strap if you notice is so thin and elegant but when you wear them your pinky toe pops out looking like a wardrobe malfunction..eeeks!.

They went back right in the package all taped up and ready to go within 5 mins that they arrived.

I was so dissapointed...but hey atleast I tried them.

But this doesn't stop me from admiring some other styles in the same line. Here are some of the other styles I am admiring right now, but thats all they might be, things to just look at...

Snakeskin Shoes

Some of favorite snake skin shoes from Manolo to Mossimo.

Strapless dress for work!

Anthropologie at ShopStyle

The dress and the ring are from Anthropologie. the dress is on sale for 68$ right now and the ring is 118$. I think the ring is just fabulous, but I am crazy about anything 'flowers'.

The bag is from Big Budha and I think is great, and will add a punch to any outfit. Since it is synthetic, its pretty affordable. Try to search for it on sites like pricegrabber.com
to get the best price.

The bangles are from Max & Chloe
and are 45$.

The Earrings!!! how fabulous are they? , and they are about 12$ at new look.

The sandals are from victoria's secret
and are on sale for 39$ for now, but any nuetral brown summer sandals would be fine.

The shrug is from Banana republic and is 79$. You can throw this in your oversized clutch once you are out of the office.

The lipstick is a nice plum from clinique and would look good on anybody.

Hope you guys like this,

DVF dress again!

Cole Haan at ShopStyle

Can't get enough of DVF dresses!

The dress is from DVF of course, will run you about 385$.
The shoes are from my favorite shoe designer Giuseppe Zanotti, will put you back 330$ at Zappos.
The bag is from Cole Haan, with the supple squeezable leather, will run you 375$ at Bloomingdales.
Finally the coolest thing of it all, the jacket is from Vivienne Westwood Anglomania – $573.

The total outfit is 1663$!!!

They are all very versatile peices and you can wear them all your life and pair them with lot more things. But if you are like me, while I appreciate the workmanship and the quality, I don't have that kind of money and will get eventually bored of the pieces.

So I will try to put the same look together for less soon!

T- shirt dress

Banana Republic at ShopStyle

The dress is as casual as a T-shirt. Since its black and white and so casual I would love to punch it up with multiple colors. Adds to the more casual, just "threw on things from my closet" look. Love the bright colored shoes and bag. A swipe of red lipstick wouldn't hurt either.

Mod Spring!

Isharya at ShopStyle

Love the neckline on this dress. Gap had a similar style but in neutral colors like Grey and Black. I think orange is the new neutral for this spring, hence even the Moroccan eye palette can be very neutral and versatile.

Love the moonstone earrings. They give a very traditional twist to this modern dress.

The bag with its floral pattern is very this spring. Its from Marni and a bit expensive but there are many inexpensive options in the market this season.

Little Tuna, Haddonfield, NJ

Love the ambiance and the lovely Haddonfield street views, but the food was OK. we went for restaurant week and by the time we were done with first 2 courses we were full. The food was very rich. The appetizers Calamari and Pasta salad were almost lunch sizes and very filling but nothing wow about them. The soups corm chowder and chicken Gumbo were very good.We got the short ribs and Grouper for entree. Both very very rich floating in butter. The sides polenta and mashed sweet potatoes were exceptional though. The desserts espresso mousse and strawberry shortcake were freshly made but very ordinary. Overall love the fresh high quality ingredients and exceptional cooking methods but I would tone down the richness and add more flavor.

This might work...

The shape of the tunic throws me off, so I balanced that with pencil skirt and high heels to give it a prim and proper shape. The lack of color in the clothes is compensated by accessories.
